Who We Are

A Community Being Transformed by Jesus, Together

Center Point Assembly is a vibrant member of the Assemblies of God fellowship, rooted in the 16 Fundamental Truths and committed to a full-gospel ministry. Our name says it all — we exist to help every person place and keep Jesus at the center point of their life.

We believe the church isn’t a showroom for finished products — it’s a workshop for people being shaped by grace. As Paul wrote, “Not that I have already obtained all this… but I press on.” (Philippians 3:12)

Through Spirit-filled worship and Bible-centered teaching, we encourage every believer to seek God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Our vision is clear: to be a community being transformed by Jesus, together — not rushing anyone, not ranking anyone, just walking together as Jesus changes us.

Our History

Our story began in 1947 as Charlevoix Assembly of God. In the late 1970s, the church moved to its current home on Highway 66, just south of Charlevoix — a location we’ve called home for over 45 years.

In 2012, God gave us a renewed vision and a new name: Center Point Assembly. The name reflects our heart and mission — to place Jesus at the center point of everything we do, both personally and as a church family.

Today, as we step into our Made for More season, we’re clear about who we are and where God is taking us. As Scripture reminds us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” (Proverbs 29:18) — and God has given us a clear vision for this next chapter.

Our Core Values & What We Stand For

Jesus Is the Center

Everything we do points to Him. The church does not exist for a style, a tradition, or a personality. It exists for Jesus. “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Colossians 1:17)

People Matter More Than Programs

We value relationships over routines. Jesus was constantly criticized for how He treated people — He healed on the Sabbath, ate with sinners, and stopped for people others walked past. Programs are tools. People are the mission. “If I have all faith… but have not love, I am nothing.” (1 Corinthians 13:2)

Transformation Is a Journey

We expect growth, not perfection. The church is not a showroom for finished products — it’s a workshop for people being shaped by grace. “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)

We Grow Better Together

Faith is lived out in community. From the very beginning, the church was meant to be shared life — not solo faith. “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship.” (Acts 2:42)

We Live on Purpose

Faith shows up in everyday life. God didn’t save us just to gather — He saved us to be sent. “You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:14) — Because we were Made for More than Sundays alone.

Our Beliefs

As members of the Assemblies of God, we hold to the foundational truths that guide our faith. These are nonnegotiable tenets that all Assemblies of God churches adhere to, derived from the official Statement of Fundamental Truths.

The Scriptures Inspired

The Bible is the inspired Word of God — a revelation from God to humanity, the infallible and authoritative guide for faith and conduct.

The One True God

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent Creator of heaven and earth, manifest in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Deity of Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death, and resurrection are foundational to our faith.

The Fall of Man

Humanity was created good and upright, but through voluntary transgression fell into sin, making redemption through Jesus Christ necessary for salvation.

The Salvation of Man

Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace through faith — washed by the regeneration of the Holy Spirit.

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

All believers are entitled to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the initial physical evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

Divine Healing

Healing of the sick is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Blessed Hope

The rapture of the Church — the blessed hope of all believers — is the expectation of Christ's imminent return for those who are His.
